Pillowcase
[Lyrics & Music – Micke Wennborn]

She got her hair done yesterday
To make an impression
He’s takin’ her out tonight
And she’s wanna turn him on
She’s the kinda girl that gets
Whatever she wants
So she’s telling him

Yeah
She’s tellin’ him lies

That she love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a wound inside her
Oh she love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a longing in her

But you don’t need to know that
You can rest your head
On her shoulder or her pillowcase
She’s got a really cute smile
And an angels face
Baby
You don’t need to know
All the things I know… about her

She’s tellin’ you lies

That she love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a wound inside her
Oh she love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a longing in her

But you don’t need to know that
You can rest your head
On her shoulder or her pillowcase
She’s got a really cute smile
And an angels face
Baby
You don’t need to know
All the things I know… about her

She’s tellin’ you lies

That she love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a wound inside her
Oh she love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a longing in her

She love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a wound inside her
Oh she love’s you
With everything that she’s got
No one else can have her
Baby
That’s a promise she can’t keep
There’s a longing in her

There’s a wound inside her
There’s a longing in her

About The Song

Pillowcase is a song about appearances, hidden wounds and the difference between what people show and what they carry inside.

At first glance, the song may sound like an accusation. The narrator describes promises that cannot be kept, half-truths and a version of love that feels incomplete. Yet beneath the frustration lies something more complicated than simple deception.

The title provides the key to the song’s central idea.

A pillowcase is what we see. It is the surface. The fabric that covers what lies beneath. In the same way, people often present a version of themselves that is polished, attractive and easy to understand while keeping their fears, insecurities and unresolved struggles hidden from view.

Throughout the lyrics, the narrator recognizes that the woman at the centre of the story is not defined by her charm, beauty or confidence alone. Behind the smile and the carefully constructed image exists something deeper: wounds that have not healed and longings that remain unresolved.

The song therefore becomes less about judging someone and more about understanding the gap between appearance and reality. Between the person the world sees and the person who exists beneath the surface.

At its heart, Pillowcase is a song about the masks people wear, the stories they tell about themselves and the hidden parts that rarely become visible until much later.

Ytan.

Padjapüür on see, mida me näeme. Pealispind.
