About the Song
Estonian Devil is a song about betrayal, deception, and the painful realization that the person you loved was living a double life.
The song is built upon a small number of real events: a meeting in a bar, exchanged phone numbers, and a later date that took place behind the narrator’s back. At the very same time, she continues to smile, show affection, kiss him, and tell him she loves him. That contradiction lies at the very heart of the song.
The true betrayal is therefore not limited to the actions themselves, but to the false reality surrounding them. Warmth exists alongside deception. Tenderness coexists with lies. What appears to be love slowly reveals itself to have been built upon dishonesty.
The song’s imagery reinforces this emotional contradiction. Angel’s eyes, fake embrace, frozen heart, and ultimately Estonian Devil are not intended as literal descriptions of a person. They represent the narrator’s emotional experience as the illusion gradually falls apart. The symbols reflect the inner journey from trust to the painful realization that the woman he loved was not the person she claimed to be.
Estonian Devil is therefore not primarily a song about anger or revenge. It is about the grief, confusion, and emotional collapse that follow the discovery of profound betrayal and sustained deception. It explores how someone can continue to express warmth, affection, and love while simultaneously building an entirely different reality behind another person’s back.
The song’s factual foundation consists of only a handful of real events. Almost everything else is the emotional landscape that grew out of those events.

Estonian Devil handlar om svek, falskhet och den smärtsamma upptäckten att den människa man älskade levde ett dubbelliv.
Låtens utgångspunkt är några få konkreta händelser: ett möte på en bar, utbytta telefonnummer och en senare dejt bakom berättarens rygg. Samtidigt fortsätter kvinnan att le, visa värme, kyssa och säga att hon älskar honom. Just denna dubbla verklighet är låtens kärna.
Det verkliga sveket ligger därför inte bara i handlingarna, utan i kontrasten mellan det som sägs och det som faktiskt sker. Varma ord samexisterar med lögner. Närhet existerar sida vid sida med hemligheter. Det som upplevdes som kärlek visar sig gradvis vila på en falsk grund.
Låtens bildspråk förstärker denna kontrast. Angel’s eyes, fake embrace, frozen heart och slutligen Estonian Devilbeskriver inte en bokstavlig person, utan berättarens emotionella upplevelse när illusionen bryts sönder. Symbolerna speglar den inre resa som följer när tilliten ersätts av insikten att människan bakom fasaden inte var den hon utgav sig för att vara.
